The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) has decided to make tougher the SSC multiple choice question (MCQ) paper. Say it interesting or untoward, but the board thinks its teachers are not up to the mark to do the job of setting tougher questions, and henceforth, has decided to outsource the work from some independent agencies.

The board’s officer on special duty (OSD), M M Pathan, revealed that an agency would be hired to devise a bank of tough MCQs that would aim at testing the students’ understanding about the subject. He further disclosed that last year around 5% questions in the MCQ paper of 50 marks were intentionally asked of a higher standard in order to scale up the knowledge level of board students. Following that, this year the number of tough questions would be bigger.

Viewing the competition scenario, the state board students should be in line with the students of central and international boards, and in order to make that happen, their level has to be raised, letting them perform equally well in the national level competitive exams, said.

GUJCET 2018 Application Dates have been released now. Gujarat Common Entrance Test (GUJCET 2018) is a state level entrance test which is administered by the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSEB). GUJCET will be held for admission to engineering and degree/diploma pharmacy courses in government, grant in aid and self finance institutes of Gujarat. Aspirants can appear this entrance test after passing their 10+2 examination. GUJCET 2018 Exam Date & Pattern have been released. Eligibility Criteria

Candidates are required to meet the following eligibility criteria while applying for admissions under GUJCET 2018

Nationality: The applicant should be of Indian nationality.
Domicile: Should be a bonafide resident of Gujarat. Even those applicants who are bonafide residents of Gujarat but are residing in other states of the country, defense/central Government applicants are also eligible to apply for GUJCET 2018.
Academic Qualifications: The applicants should have qualified their 10+2 examination from the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board, Gandhinagar/CBSE, Delhi/CISCE, New Delhi/NIOS/International School Board.
If the applicant completes their 10+2 examination in 2018, they are also eligible to apply.
Qualifying Marks: To be eligible for admissions, the applicants will have to score a minimum of 45% marks in the qualifying examination. Reserved category applicants will have to secure 40% marks.
